Christine Chao is the senior paralegal at The Law Offices of Derek Lim.
Ms. Chao joined the firm in 2008 and has nearly 20 years of legal experience, having handled various immigration matters including EB-5 immigration by investment, H-1B, L1, PERM, family-based petitions and other nonimmigrant visas. Ms. Chao has extensive experience aiding the attorney on complex immigration matters, such as waivers and appeals.
Ms. Chao also provides invaluable assistance with the firm’s personal injury cases, making hospital and home visits as needed, and helping injured victims and their family members through this difficult time.
In addition, Ms. Chao assists with the overall management of the firm and participates in training of the legal team on the firm’s practices and procedures.
Ms. Chao has also assisted with writing of the Immigration Column for the Sing Tao Daily, the largest Chinese newspaper in the U.S.
Ms. Chao’s achievements, abilities, and charisma have won her many praises from clients and colleagues.
Ms. Chao received her Bachelor of Arts degree at Jilin University, China and a paralegal certificate at California State University of San Francisco. Ms. Chao is fluent in both Mandarin and English.
Penny joined Derek Lim’s team in July 2017. Her expertise includes assisting with family-based immigration as well as employment-based immigration for large and small companies. She additionally has expertise with handling personal injury cases. Penny serves as liaison between attorney and clients while providing timely and professional service to all.
Prior to joining The Law Office of Derek Lim, Penny worked as an attorney and practiced law in China for more than three years. She is also fluent in English and Mandarin.
In her personal time, Penny enjoys travelling and spending time with her family and friends.
